A B S T R A C T An improved process for preparing a block copolyester elastomer having a softening point of at least 120°C by reacting an aromatic polyester with a aliphatic polyester, the two reactants forming a hard and a soft segment respectively in the elastomer. The process also provides for the inhibition or prevention of random copolymerisation after the required block copoly- merisation has taken place.
