PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: La présente invention consiste en un procédé de préparation d'alkyléthers de polyols répondant à la formule générale: Image dans laquelle R et/ou R' représentent une chaîne alkyle (1-22 C). Ce procédé est caractérisé en ce que les produits revendiqués sont préparés dans un milieu biphasique en présence d'un agent de transfert de phase du type halogénure d'ammonium quaternaire ou halogénure de phosphonium. Les alkyléthers de polyols ci-dessus mentionnés trouvent notamment leur application comme lubrifiants synthétiques, comme bases synthétiques pour lubrifiants semi-synthétiques ou comme additifs pour lubrifiants et combustibles liquides.
