Provided according to the present invention is a process for the preparation of a polyprenol represented by the following formula (1): (see fig. I) wherein Y and Z individually represent a hydrogen atom or are coupled together to form a carbon-carbon bond; R represents a hydrogen atom or a protective group of a hydroxyl group; and n stands for 0 or an integer not smaller than 1, which comprises bringing an organic complex of an alkaline metal into contact with a compound represented by the following formula (2): (see fig. II) wherein concerning V, W and X, V represents a halogen atom, while W and X are coupled together to form a carbon-carbon bond or X represents a halogen atom, while V and W are coupled together to form a carbon-carbon bond; A represents a protective group of a hydroxyl group; and Y,Z and n have the same meanings as defined above.

Invention fournissant un procédé pour préparer un polyprénol représenté par la formule suivante (1) : (voir la fig. I), dans laquelle Y et Z sont chacun un atome d'hydrogène ou sont couplés pour former un lien carbone-carbone; R représente un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe protecteur d'un groupement hydroxyle; et n est égal à 0 ou à un nombre entier égal ou supérieur à 1. Le procédé consiste à mettre en contact un complexe organique d'un métal alcalin avec un composé représenté par la formule suivante (2) : (voir la fig. II), dans laquelle V représente un atome d'halogène, alors que W et X sont couplés pour former un lien carbone-carbone ou bien X représente un atome d'halogène, alors que V et W sont couplés pour former un lien carbone-carbone; A représente un groupe protecteur d'un groupement hydroxyle; et Y, Z et n ont les mêmes significations que celles définies précédemment.
