A method for producing a pressure sensitive adhesive composition includes at least one elastomer that produces a substantially homogeneous pressure sensitive adhesive composition. The method is particularly well suited for relatively high throughput continuous compounding rates, e.g., at a throughput rate of more than about 5.4 kg/hr/l free volume of the continuous compounding device utilized in the process.
