A process for synthesizing prostaglandin E1, E2 and derivatives thereof is provided. The process is a "one-pot" method in which 2-furyllithium, copper cyanide, a lower alkyllithium reagent and either an (E)-alkenylstannane or a halogenide are combined with cyclopentenone (II), in which A, R6 and R7 are as defined herein. The reaction gives rise to the desired prostaglandin product in yields of 80 % or higher.

Cette invention concerne un procédé permettant la synthèse des prostaglandines E¿1? et E¿2? et de dérivés de celles-ci. Ce procédé consiste en une réaction en récipient unique au cours de laquelle du 2-furyllithium, du cyanure de cuivre, un réactif d'alkyllithium inférieur et soit un (E)-alkénylstannane soit un halogénure sont combinés à de la cyclopenténone représentée par la formule (II) dans laquelle A, R?6¿ et R?7¿ sont définis dans le descriptif de l'invention. Cette réaction donne lieu à une production de la prostaglandine désirée dans un rapport de 80 % ou plus.
