ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a polyisocyanurate foam which contains an organosilicate having the formula Si(OR)4 or RnSi(OR')4-n wherein R and R' are same or different and represent an aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon group having 1 - 12 carbon atoms which maybe substituted and n is an integer of 1 - 3 in an amount of 0.2 - 3 wt. % as Si derived from the organosilicate to the weight of the foam. The present invention also provides in a process for preparing a smoke-retardant poly- isocyanurate foam by reacting an organic polyisocyante in the presence of a blowing agent, and an isocyanate-trimerization catalyst, the improvement in which the reaction is conducted in the presence of an organosilicate having the formula Si(OR)4 or RnSi(OR')4-n wherein R and R' are same or different and re- present an aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon group having 1 - 12 carbon atoms which may be substituted and n is an integer of 1 to 3.
