Abstract of the disclosure: A process for preparing a stable aqueous dispersion of rosin-base material by dissolving in a water-immiscible organic solvent a rosin-base material composed of 0 to 95 wt. % of rosin and 100 to 5 wt. % of an adduct of rosin and .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride thereof, dispersing the organic solvent solution in water in the presence of a dispersant and removing the organic solvent from the resulting emulsion, the process being characterized in that the dispersant in an alkali metal salt of a half alkyl sulfate.
