Disclosed is a process for preparing a thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride molding composition with improved impact strength and corner strength and with improved optical properties. The process uses an impact modifier. The impact modifier has a core-shell structure in which the core is vinyl chloride homo- or copolymer and the shell is elastomeric and is a cross-linked alkyl (meth)acrylate homo- or copolymer.

On présente un procédé de préparation d'une composition de poly(chlorure de vinyle) thermoplastique pour le moulage possédant une résistance aux impacts et une résistance de coin accrues, ainsi que des propriétés optiques améliorées. Le procédé fait appel à un modificateur d'impact. Celui-ci possède une structure coeur-coquille dont le coeur est un homopolymère ou un copolymère de poly(chlorure de vinyle), et dont la coquille est un élastomère d'homopolymère ou de copolymère de méthacrylate ou d'acrylate d'alkyle réticulé.
