ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A thin coated film having a transmittance of 96% or more for light having a particular wavelength in the range of 300 to 700 nm is prepared by coating one or both surfaces of a thin film of a transparent resin having a uniform thickness of 0.5 to 10µm with a colorless metal fluoride or oxide completely over the area thereof to a thickness of about 100 nm while maintaining the thin film under uniform tension.
