PROCESS FOR PREPARING ZEOLITIC HYDROCARBON CONVERSION CATALYST Abstract of the Disclosure A process for preparing a hydrocarbon cracking catalyst which consists of preparing a sodium silicate solution having a concentration of about 10 to 20% SiO2, adding a sufficient quantity of a dilute mineral acid to neutralize 10 to 30% of the silicate, and form a silica hydrosol, adding clay and zeolitic components, spray drying, washing, rare earth exchanging, if desired, and recovering the product. The catalyst is characterized by the excellent attrition resistance and activity.
