There is described a process for the preparation of 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-dihydroperoxyhexane by reaction of 2,5-dimethyl-1,5-hexadiene with hydrogen peroxide in an acidic medium. According to this process, the 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-dihydroperoxyhexane can be prepared with good yield and in a technically simple way.
