ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for producing a tetraalkylthiuram disulfide which comprises electrolytically oxidizing a dialkylammonium dialkyldithio- carbamate having the formula Image wherein each R represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, in the presence or absence of a supporting electrolyte to produce a tetra- alkylthiuram disulfide, the electrolytic oxidation being carried out in one or more solvents which dissolve at least one of the starting dialkyl- ammonium dialkyldithiocarbamate and the resulting tetraalkylthiuram disulfide.
