PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A VANADIUM SILICON ALLOY ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A vanadium-silicon alloy having a low carbon and oxygen content is produced by vacuum furnacing a mixture of V2O3, carbon and silicon metal in at least the stoichiometric amounts necessary to reduce V2O3 and form V2Si while preventing vanadium from combining with carbon and oxygen. - 1 -
