Abstract of the Disclosure An alloy difficult to produce by conventional electro- deposition techniques is produced by electrodepositing at least one metal selected from the group comprising nickel, cobalt and iron, and optionally at least one metal from the group comprising molybdenum, tungsten and titanium, together with particles incorporating metal in chemically combined state. The electrodeposit of the particles in a metal matrix is treated so that the particles react, releasing at least some of their incorporated metal into the matrix and thus form the alloy.
