Process for producing an iridium solution, characterized in that a carbonylated iridium compound is contacted, in liquid phase, with hydriodic acid or its precursor in the presence of a solvent, at a global pressure of 1 to 5 bars and at a temperature not exceeding the boiling temperature of said solvent under contacting conditions. The invention also relates to the use of the solution obtainable by this process as a catalyst.

La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation d'une solution à base d'iridium caractérisé en ce que l'on met en contact, en phase liquide, un composé carbonylé d'iridium avec de l'acide iodhydrique ou un précurseur d'un tel acide, en présence d'un solvant, sous une pression totale comprise entre 1 et 5 bar a à une température au plus égale à la température d'ébullition du solvant précité, dans tes conditions de la mise en contact. Elle concerne de même l'utilisation de la solution susceptible d'être obtenue par ce procédé, en tant que catalyseur.
