ABSTRACT A method of producing a coal-oil-water fuel mixture comprising adding distillate oil to finely divided coal in water to form agglomerates, and then sonically cavitating the mixture to stabilize it. A coal-oil-water fuel produced thereby comprising about 2 to 20% water, about 25-45% oil, and about 40 to 65% coal. From 50 to 95% of the oil is preferably a residual oil, the balance a distillate oil.
