It is intended to provide a process for efficiently producing coenzyme Q10 with the use of a microorganism wherein a coenzyme Q10 side chain synthesis gene originating in a fungus belonging to the genus Bulleromyces is used. A DNA comprising the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1; a DNA having a base sequence derived from the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 by deletion, addition, insertion and/or substitution of one or more bases and encoding a protein having a decaprenyl diphosphate synthase activity; or a DNA being hybridizable with the DNA comprising the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 under stringent conditions and having a decaprenyl diphosphate synthase activity.
L'invention concerne un procédé de production efficace de coenzyme Q¿10? à l'aide d'un micro-organisme, dans lequel est utilisé un gène de synthèse à chaîne latérale de coenzyme Q¿10? tiré d'un champignon appartenant au genre Bulleromyces. L'invention concerne également un ADN contenant la séquence de base représentée par SEQ ID NO :1 ; un ADN ayant une séquence de base dérivée de la séquence de base représentée par SEQ ID NO :1 par délétion, addition, insertion et/ou substitution d'une ou de plusieurs bases et codant une protéine ayant une activité décaprènyle diphosphate synthase ; ou un ADN apte à une hybridation avec l'ADN comprenant la séquence de base représentée par SEQ ID NO :1 dans des conditions strictes et ayant une activité décaprènyle diphosphate synthase.
