A process for microbiologically producing coenzyme Q10 at a high efficiency by using a gene of the synthesis of coenzyme Q10 side chain originating in a fungus belonging to the genus Saitoella. A DNA having the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1; a DNA having a base sequence derived from the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 by deletion, addition, insertion and/or substitution of one or more bases and encoding a protein having a decaprenyl diphosphate synthase activity; and a DNA being hybridizable under stringent conditions with the DNA comprising the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 and encoding a protein having a decaprenyl diphosphate synthase activity.
La présente invention concerne un processus de production microbiologique de coenzyme Q¿10? hautement efficace par l'utilisation d'un gène de synthèse de la chaîne latérale de coenzyme Q¿10? provenant d'un champignon du genre Saitoella. Cette invention concerne aussi un ADN dont la séquence de base est représentée par SEQ ID NO: 1. Elle concerne encore un ADN dont une séquence est dérivée de la séquence de base représentée par SEQ ID NO: 1 par délétion, addition, insertion et/ou substitution d'une ou de plusieurs bases, et codant pour une protéine possédant une activité décaprényle diphosphate synthase. Enfin, cette invention concerne un ADN que l'on peut hybrider dans des conditions rigoureuses avec l'ADN comprenant la séquence de base représentée par SEQ ID NO: 1, et codant pour une protéine possédant une activité décaprényle diphosphate synthase.
