ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for producing cyanamide from lime nitrogen, which comprises dispersing lime nitrogen in an organic liquid con- taining methanol, and blowing carbon dioxide gas into the disper- sion, while the water content of the reaction system is maintained 5% or below. By this process, cyanamide of high purity can be produced in a high yield. Especially, the inclusion of dicyandi- amide can be avoided, since water is not employed.
