A process for producing cyclic unsaturated aldehydes by reacting a cyclic conjugated diene compound with an aldehyde of the general formula (I): R-CH=CH- CHO ... (wherein R is C1-C3 alkyl) through the Diels-Alder reaction in the presence of a solid acid catalyst. The above process enables an efficient and industrially advantageous production of cyclic unsaturated aldehydes useful as the raw material of traction oil through the Diels-Alder reaction at a low cost without causing the corrosion of the equipment and can dispense with post- treatment after the reaction.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de production d'aldéhydes cycliques insaturés. On obtient ces aldéhydes en faisant réagir un composé cyclique conjugué de diène avec un aldéhyde de la formule générale (I): R-CH=CH-CHO ... (dans laquelle R représente un alkyle en C¿1?-C¿3?) dans une réaction Diels-Alder en présence d'un catalyseur solide acide. Ce procédé permet une production efficace et avantageuse du point de vue industriel d'aldéhydes cycliques insaturés, utilisés comme matière première d'huile pour traction par le biais d'une réaction Diels-Alder, d'un faible coût de revient, sans corrosion de l'équipement et ne nécessitant pas de traitement ultérieur faisant suite à la réaction.
