ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for producing a dense cloud barrier used in military camouflage manoeuvres, comprising discharging a microfine neutral, cold or non-toxic powder into the atmosphere such that finely dispersed solid part- icles of diameter up to 60/um with a velocity of descent of up to 5 cm/s form said dense cloud which is impermeable to visible light and infrared light of wave lengths of up to 14 /um. Cloud barriers thus produced are primarily used as a smoke screen for military tanks and are non-toxic and represent no fine hazard since distribution of the powder is affected with- out use of heat.
