This invention relates to an ethylene oxide process utilizing a catalyst comprising silver supported on an alumina promoted by an alkali metal and rhenium characterized in that at normal operating conditions the concentration of the chlorohydrocarbon moderator in the gas passing over the catalyst is increased during the operation of the catalyst.
