ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a process for producing glycidyl methacrylate which comprises the transesterification of methyl methacrylate with glycide in the presence of a catalyst selected from an alkali metal or an alkali metal compound. The methanol being formed during the reaction being immediately distilled off.
