ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In the extraction stage of the anthraquinone process for the production of hydrogen peroxide an aqueous hydrogen peroxide extract containing small amounts of process solution and a process solution containing small amounts of dispersed aqueous hydrogen peroxide are obtained. For the after-purifi- cation of these solutions the process solution is mixed with aqueous hydrogen peroxide or preferably with water, the hydro- gen peroxide extract preferably with an organic solvent mix- ture preferably a quinone solvent and the dispersed phase is separated by coalescing devices in a separator unit. It is particularly preferable to add, prior to the coalescing stages, 1 to 3% by volume of water or 1 to 3 percent by volume of quinone solvent, using coalescing devices having a drop- enlarging structure and filtering layers of thermally desizing glass filament yarn. The after-purification according to the present invention results in a hydrogen peroxide that is improved with respect to carbon content and colour value and in an increased hydrogen peroxide yield as well as in a pro- cess solution having a constant relative humidity.
