PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LOW COLOR RESIDUE ACRYLATE ESTER MONOMERS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Residue acrylate esters of low color are pro- duced by (a) pretreating an organic diol such as 3'-hydroxy-2',2'-dimethylpropyl 3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl- propionate with triphenyl phosphite and (b) esterifying the pretreated organic diol by reacting it with acrylic or methacrylic acid.
