A solvent capable of producing microparticles which even when a drug of low solubility in halogenated hydrocarbons is employed, exhibit a high drug content and are free from initial burst has been found. There is provided a process for producing microparticles constituted of a biodegradable polymer and containing a drug of low solubility in halogenated hydrocarbons according to a in-liquid drying technique, wherein a mixed solvent consisting of a first solvent of halogenated hydrocarbon and a second solvent of water immiscible organic solvent wherein the solubility of the above drug is 0.3 %(w/v) or higher is used as a solvent for dissolving the drug and the biodegradable polymer.

L'invention concerne un solvant pouvant produire des microparticules, qui, même lorsqu'un médicament de faible solubilité dans les hydrocarbures halogénés est employé, présentent une teneur élevée en médicament et ne provoquent pas de décharge initiale du médicament. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour produire des microparticules constituées d'un polymère biodégradable et contenant un médicament de faible solubilité dans les hydrocarbures halogénés, selon une technique de séchage de liquides. Selon l'invention, on utilise un mélange de solvant contenant un premier solvant constitué d'hydrocarbure halogéné et un deuxième solvant constitué d'un solvant organique non miscible à l'eau. La solubilité du médicament mentionné est supérieure ou égale à 0,3 % (p/v). Le mélange de solvant sert à dissoudre le médicament et le polymère biodégradable.
