ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A molded article composed of pullulan, is obtained by incorporating 1 to 50 weight % of water into the pullulan, and then subjecting the pullulan to extrusion- or injection-molding by use of a molding machine equipped with a plasticizing screw at a temperature in the range from 40° to 150°C. The thus obtained molded article is tough and transparent and has gas- barriering property and oil resistance. Furthermore, the molded article is hydrophylic and hence is spontaneously decomposable with ease in the air and in the ground.
