ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for producing needle-shaped calcium carbonate particles with high efficiency is disclosed. In the process of the invention, a ternary system comprising calcium chloride, magnesium hydroxide and water is reacted with carbon dioxide gas at a temperature not lower than 60°C.
