A process and a system for increasing para-xylene production from a C8 aromatic feedstream by coupling at least one xylene isomerization reactor with at least one pressure swing adsorption unit or temperature swing absorption unit to produce a product having a super-equilibrium para-xylene concentration. This product is then subjected to para-xylene separation and purification.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un système visant à accroître la production de para-xylène à partir d'une charge aromatique en C8 et consistant à coupler au moins un réacteur d'isomérisation de xylène à au moins une unité d'adsorption modulée en pression ou à une unité d'adsorption modulée en température aux fins de l'obtention d'un produit ayant une concentration de para-xylène en "super-équilibre". Ledit produit est ensuite soumis à une séparation du para-xylène et à une purification.
