A process for efficiently producing, through few steps either a xanthine oxidase inhibitor, which is a therapeutic agent for hyperuricemia, or an intermediate therefore. The process is a novel coupling process which comprises subjecting a compound represented by formula (1) to coupling reaction with a compound represented by formula (2) in the presence of a transition metal compound to thereby obtain a compound represented by formula (3).

La présente invention concerne un procédé de production efficace, en peu d'étapes, soit d'un inhibiteur de la xanthine oxydase, qui est un agent thérapeutique contre l'hyperuricémie, ou l'un de ses intermédiaires. Le procédé est un nouveau procédé de couplage qui comprend l'étape consistant à soumettre un composé représenté par la formule (1) à une réaction de couplage avec un composé représenté par la formule (2) en présence d'un composé à métal de transition, afin d'obtenir par ce biais un composé représenté par la formule (3).
