Process for Making a Cushion, a Quilt, or the Like, Filling Material Cartridge Suitable for Carrying Out the Process, Process for Making the Filling Material Cartridge, and Envelope Suitable for Carrying Out the Process A process is described for making a cushion, a quilt, or the like, having an essentially closed envelope with a closable filling opening, and having a filling material of individual aggregates, e.g. fiber aggregates, down, feathers, pieces of foam material. The reversibly compressible aggregates, which are in a separate filling material cartridge that has a far lower volume than the maximum volume of the envelope and which are thus under high pressure, are introduced into the envelope through the opening along with at least a part of the filling material cartridge, whereupon the filling material cartridge is opened inside the envelope and the envelope is filled as the aggregates expand out from the filling material cartridge. This novel filling operation can be carried out by the specialty retailer or even by the end customer without additional special filling equipment. The actual cushion or quilt manufacturer makes only particular, empty envelopes and various sizes of filling material cartridges so that their inventory is also reduced. As a result, the transport volume of the cushion or the quilt is sharply reduced.
Un procédé permet de fabriquer un coussin, une couverture ou similaire ayant une enveloppe sensiblement fermée pourvue d'une ouverture de remplissage fermable et d'un rembourrage en agrégats individuels tels qu'agrégats de fibres, du duvet, des plumes et des bâtonnets de mousse. Les agrégats réversiblement compressibles contenus dans une cartouche séparée de matériau de remplissage qui a un volume largement inférieur au volume maximal de l'enveloppe et qui contient donc les agrégats sous une haute pression sont introduits, avec au moins une partie de la cartouche de matériau de remplissage, à travers l'ouverture ménagée dans l'enveloppe, puis la cartouche de matériau de remplissage est ouverte à l'intérieur de l'enveloppe et les agrégats se détendent en sortant de la cartouche de remplissage de façon à remplir l'enveloppe. Ce procédé nouveau de remplissage peut être mis en oeuvre aussi bien dans le commerce spécialisé que par des consommateurs sans aucun appareil spécial de remplissage. Le fabriquant proprement dit des coussins ou des couvertures ne fabrique que des enveloppes vides déterminées et des cartouches de matériau de remplissage de différentes dimensions, ce qui permet de diminuer le volume de stockage requis. Le volume des coussins et des couvertures pendant leur transport est ainsi fortement réduit.
