For the manufacture of fluorohydrocarbon-free foamed plastics, more particularly polyurethane foamed plastics, pure nitrogen is employed as expanding agent which is obtained by means of the simultaneous, binary reaction of the ions NH4 + and NO2 - of two solutions which form NH4 + and NO2 - ions comprising ammonium salts and alkali nitrites, such as ammonium chloride or ammonium sulfate solution and sodium nitrite or potassium nitrite solution.

Pour fabriquer des mousses de plastique exemptes d'hydrocarbures fluorés, et plus particulièrement des plastiques à base de mousse de polyuréthane, on utilise de l'azote pur comme agent gonflant; on obtient cet azote au moyen de la réaction binaire simultanée des ions NH4+ et NO2- de deux solutions de sels d'ammonium et de nitrites de métaux alcalins qui forment les ions NH4+ et NO2-, comme une solution de chlorure d'ammonium ou de sulfate d'ammonium et une solution nitrite de sodium ou de nitrite de potassium.
