A process by which a biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoate is easily obtained through solvent extraction. The process, which is for producing polyhydroxyalkanoate crystals, is characterized in that a C4-10 monohydric alcohol is used as an extraction solvent and that a polyhydroxyalkanoate solution containing water in an amount of 0.1 to 10 wt.% based on the total amount of the solution is kept at a temperature not lower than 70~C and then cooled to a temperature lower than 70~C to thereby precipitate crystals of the polyhydroxyalkanoate.

L'invention concerne un procédé par lequel un polyhydroxyalcanoate biodégradable est facilement obtenu par extraction au solvant. Ce procédé, destiné à produire des cristaux polyhydroxyalcanoates, est caractérisé en ce qu'un alcool monohydride en C¿4-10?est utilisé en tant que solvant d'extraction et qu'une solution de polyhydroxyalcanoate à teneur en eau comprise entre 0,1 et 10 % en poids sur la base de la quantité totale de solution est maintenue à une température non inférieure à 70 ·C, puis refroidie à une température inférieure à 70 ·C afin de précipiter les cristaux polyhydroxyalcanoates.
