ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed a process for producing a polyolefin which comprises polymerizing an olefin by the use of a catalyst comprising a specific transition metal compound, an aluminoxane and a specific magnesium compound or a catalyst comprising a specific transition metal compound, an aluminoxane, a specific magnesium compound and an organoaluminum compound. The use of the above process in polymerizing the olefin enables efficient stable production of a high molecular weight polyolefin improved in the powder morphology of the produced polymer, facilitated in the regulation of the molecular weight distribution and gifted with excellent particle shape.
