A proanthocyanin-containing material being rich in OPC having a high physiological activity can be efficiently obtained by treating an extract or a press juice of a plant with a salt and/or an alkaloid and then treating with a synthetic resin adsorbent, or treating an extract or a press juice of a plant with a synthetic resin adsorbent and then treating with a salt and/or an alkaloid.
