A process for producing an active protein or a salt thereof characterized by comprising extracting a protein having been bioengineeringly expressed in a prokaryotic host by using a solution containing about 0.1 mM to about 50 mM of a reducing agent having a reduction potential higher than -331 mV and then refolding in a solution containing a mercapto-free amino acid or its salt. By using this production process, an inactive recombinant protein expressed in prokaryotic cells can be effectively activated and thus a biologically and pharmacologically active recombinant protein having the above-described effects can be prepared in a large amount.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'une protéine active ou d'un sel de celle-ci, qui consiste à extraire une protéine exprimée par génie génétique dans un hôte procaryote, au moyen d'une solution contenant environ 0,1 mM à environ 50mM d'un agent de réduction possédant une puissance de réduction supérieure à 331 mV et à la replier dans une solution contenant un acide aminé exempt de mercapto ou un sel de celui-ci. Ledit procédé de production permet l'activation efficace d'une protéine de recombinaison inactive exprimée dans des cellules procaryotes et donc la préparation en grande quantité d'une protéine de recombinaison ayant les effets susmentionnés.
