In a process for producing sponge iron from particulate iron oxide-containing material, iron oxide-containing material is reduced to sponge iron with a reducing gas in a reduction zone (4) and gas produced during reduction is withdrawn as top gas. In order to effectively use top gas produced during ore reduction, the CO2 contained in the top gas is removed, the thus obtained CO2- containing waste gas is mixed with an oxygen-containing waste gas is mixed with an oxygen-containing gas, is burned and the thermal energy thus produced is supplied to a consumer.
Selon un procédé de production d'éponge de fer à partir d'un matériau particulaire contenant de l'oxyde de fer, on réduit le matériau contenant de l'oxyde de fer avec du gaz réducteur dans une zone de réduction (4) et on retire le gaz dégagé pendant la réduction comme gaz de tête. Afin de pouvoir utiliser efficacement le gaz de tête dégagé pendant la réduction du minerai, on enlève le CO¿2? contenu dans le gaz de tête, on mélange les effluents gazeux contenant du CO¿2? à un gaz contenant de l'oxygène, on les brûle et on amène l'énergie thermique ainsi obtenue à un consommateur.
