Abstract of the Disclosure Process for the manufacture of unsaturated hydrocarbon polymers having an increased proportion of vinyl, or substituted vinyl, groups by polymerising conjugated dienes, in the presence of a solvent and with the aid of a catalyst system comprising (a) a cobalt compound; (b) an organo- aluminium compound containing halogen; (c) an organic phosphite. These polymers possess rubber-like properties and find use in the manufacture of tyres.
