ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is disclosed for the production of unsaturated short chain hydrocarbons by the catalytic hydrogenation of carbon oxides, with the improvement comprising carrying out the process with 10 to 150 ppm of sulfur in the catalyst. This improvement increases the effective life of the catalysts and improves their selectivity and activity.
