A process for producing biopolymers comprises passing nitrogen deficient wastewater through a treatment system comprising micro-organisms which grow aerobically in nitrogen deficient wastewater, and controlling the environment in the treatment system by maintaining a sufficiently stable dissolved oxygen level to thereby encourage the growth and/or activity of micro-organisms which produce the biopolymers, and recovering the biomass produced and the biopolymers.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire des biopolymères, consistant à : faire passer des eaux usées déficitaires en azote à travers un système de traitement contenant des micro-organismes qui croissent de manière aérobie dans les eaux usées déficitaires en azote ; réguler l'environnement dans le système de traitement en maintenant un niveau d'oxygène dissous suffisamment stable pour encourager la croissance et/ou l'activité de micro-organismes qui produisent les biopolymères ; et récupérer la biomasse produite et les biopolymères
