ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for converting cat cracker bottoms to a feedstock suitable for carbon artifact manufacture, espe- cially carbon fiber manufacture, is provided. Basically, the cat cracker bottom is stripped of fractions boiling below about 400°C, heat soaked and then vacuum stripped to provide a suitable feedstock.
