ABSTRACT Under study were the method of preparation of composites comprising polystyrene and cellulose fiber using a coupling agent, such as lignin, or the mixtures of coupling agents, e.g. lignin and isocyanate. An alternative method for incorporating cellulosic fibers into polystyrene matrix is also provided by precoating the fibers with a compatible polymer and a single coupling agent or the mixture of coupling agents.
