The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a low-base number calcium sulfonate that is essentially chloride free. The process involves preparing a sulfonic acid solution by adding a solvent to a sulfonic acid, optionally removing dissolved or entrained SO2 or SO3, mixing the solution with a specific amount of water and calcium hydroxide, heating the mixture, separating out excess calcium hydroxide from the mixture, removing the solvent and recovering the calcium sulfonate product in oil.
L'invention concerne un procédé relatif à l'élaboration de sulfonate de calcium à faible indice de basicité essentiellement dépourvu de chlorure. Le procédé consiste à préparer une solution d'acide sulfonique par adjonction d'un solvant à un acide sulfonique, éventuellement à retirer le SO¿2? ou SO¿3? dissous ou entraîné, mélanger la solution avec une quantité spécifique d'eau et d'hydroxyde de calcium, chauffer le mélange, séparer l'hydroxyde de calcium excédentaire du mélange, retirer le solvant et récupérer le sulfonate de calcium dans l'huile.
