ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: This invention is concerned with a process for protecting a PVC surface against the effects of sunlight, comprising the step of applying to the PVC surface to be protected, a surface layer of polymethyl methacrylate, or a copolymer thereof. The surface layer is so applied that it firmly adheres on the PVC surface, and it contains color pigments and UV stabilizers and/or UV absorbers so that it be almost impermeable to UV radiations. This process is characterized in that the surfac? layer is made to be not absorbent of any IR radiation, the IR radiation being reflected by an appropriate pigmenting of the PVC layer with IR- reflecting coloring agent upon the impingement thereof.
