ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for purifying tryptophan is disclosed. In the process disclosed tryptophan is recrystallized in water-containing acetic acid. By the process disclosed tryptophan with high purity may be obtained with high yield without condensation or neutralization.
