A process for recovering at least one of CF4 and C2F6 from a vent gas from an aluminum electrolysis cell. The process includes the steps of: (a) removing inorganic fluorides from a vent gas comprising inorganic florides and at least one of CF4 and C2F6 to obtain a purified vent gas; and (b) contacting the purified vent gas with a membrane at conditions effective to obtain a retentate stream rich in at least one of CF4 and C2F6, and a permeate stream depleted in at least one of CF4 and C2F6.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de récupération de CF4 et/ou de C2F6 au moins dans des gaz évacués provenant d'une cuve d'électrolyse d'aluminium. Ledit procédé consiste à: (a) extraire les fluorures inorganiques du gaz évacué contenant des fluorures inorganiques et au moins du CF4 et/ou du C2F6 afin d'obtenir un gaz purifié; et (b) mettre le gaz évacué purifié en contact avec une membrane dans des conditions propres à l'obtention d'un courant de rétentat riche en CF4 et/ou C2F6 au moins, et d'un courant de perméat appauvri en CF4 et/ou C2F6 au moins.
