ABSTRACT Disclosed is a method of using polymer flooding solutions in tertiary oil recovery operations in which polymer loss is substantially reduced by the use of aqueous solutions of polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol or both, having a molecular weight of from about 600 to about 6,000. The method is particularly effective under high salinity conditions.
