2094809 9208001 PCTABS00013 Proposed is a process for recovering, from waste sludge, raw materials usable in the manufacture of paper, cardboard and carton. After precipitation of the coarse particles, the sludge is centrifuged to remove black particles and then divided by fractional straining into its fibre, filler, pigment and agglomerate components. The agglomerate component is shear-treated and again fractionated, while the fibres, fillers and pigments, following further treatment if necessary, are fed to their points of re-use.
