The process for recovery of plant sterols and tocopherols from deodorization distillates formed during chemical or physical refining of vegetable oils consists of the following steps: free fatty acids are removed from the deodorization distillate by vacuum distillation or by continuation solvent saponification, after the removal of free fatty acids, the received material is reacted with an aromatic carboxylic acid anhydride at a temperature of 50- 150~ C, under reduced pressure, after the treatment with anhydride, tocopherols are removed from the mixture, and crystalline free sterols are recovered from the distillation residue containing sterol esters, di- and triglycerides by transesterification.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé servant à extraire les stérols et tocophérols de nature végétale contenus dans les distillats de désodorisation se formant pendant le raffinage chimique ou physique d'huiles végétales et comprenant les étapes suivantes: les acides gras libres sont extraits du distillat de désodorisation par distillation sous vide ou par saponification par solvants en continu; après extraction des acides gras libres, les matières récupérées sont mises en réaction avec un anhydride d'acide carboxylique aromatique à une température de 50 à 150· C, sous pression réduite; après le traitement avec l'anhydride, les tocophérols sont extraits de ce mélange; et les stérols libres cristallins sont extraits du résidu de distillation contenant des esters de stérols, des diglycérides et des triglycérides par transestérification.
