ABSTRACT PROCESS FOR REMOVING ACID GASES AND AMMONIA FROM AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION A process for the removal of acid gases and ammonia from an aqueous solution comprises subjecting the dilute aqueous solution to a free and fixed ammonia still process (202, 211) passing an overhead vapor stream from the second still (211) through an indirect heat exchanger (207) to heat the liquid in the first still (202) and then passing the overhead vapor stream, mixed with an overhead vapor stream from the first still (202), to a condenser (220) to concentrate the ammonia in the combined vapor stream.
